Gators used to have the best wings now the food is mediocre at best. Will NOT be coming back; Millers Ale House will be my go to place from here on out!
I don’t like coming to Google to complain about any establishment. I love giving good reviews. However, this place…I came during my lunch break at 1:30pm — which of course is an allotted set of time. I wanted to try a spot in the area that was new to me. Dockside wasn’t busy, and I consulted with Google’s wait time panel to confirm this before I arrived for this reason. When I walked in, there was no hostess at the stand to greet or seat me. So I waited the stand even perused the menu as I waited even though I had read it online beforehand. After a few minutes had passed there, I decided to just seat myself at the bar. I sat right where the bartender stood. Not once did she look up to greet me or acknowledge that I had even sat down. I watched her acknowledge others, but even have even a “hello” or “sorry, I will be right with you.” Never was given a menu or a bev napkin. After several minutes, I watched her walk away from the bar altogether and I decided to just pick up and leave.I’ve worked in hospitality and customer service for over a decade, and I understand things can happen but a simple acknowledgement or polite greeting goes a long way. Customers can be understanding if given the chance. Now after reading other negative reviews, I see that this place has a reputation for this behavior. I’m glad to have not wasted any more time or money here. I went to Irish 31 just down the street where I was greeted and served immediately by an awesome young lady handling the entire restaurant and bar by herself. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I found my new lunch spot which was my goal from the beginning.
My friends and I had a guys night out, it was trivia night and all you can eat Boneless wings, I ate 36. The food is always good. This particular time, food delivery was a little slow, I think that they're having staffing issues, not sure but I'm giving them the benefit of doubt, lololol.
I order the nachos. The plate comes. There is no hot sauce on the table. I am half way done before my server checks on us. At that point I ask for hot sauce and a few extra tortilla chips because there is a lot of extra toppings still to eat. . . When the bill comes I find I have been charged 89 cents for an ounce of hot sauce and $3.69 for a small bowl of tortilla chips. Really? Really?? Really???
Liz was our bartender and we couldn't have asked for anyone better, she was very friendly, personable, and made or experience great.
