Hop Seed - Otsu

Absolutely phenomenal place to taste a plethora of Japanese whiskies at relatively affordable prices (eg Hibiki 21 year 2 oz pour for 4K yen bananas cheap, another bar nearby wanted to charge me 7k yen for a 1 oz pour). The bartender knows his stuff!

Slightly disappointed, they were out of half the beer on tap. However, the beer they did have was enjoyable. Definitely a nice upscale dive if you’re in Kyoto for a night or two!

Lovely little craft beer bar with a good selection of whiskies and spirits. Atmosphere is great and the service is spot on. Great selection of chips (french fries) for those who like to nibble while having beer. Recommended for a quiet drink with small group.
