So we enjoyed the burrito with a really nice hefeweizen before ordering our main. We had nachos topped with grilled chicken and prawns. Fantastic. Fresh and very tasty. Sa finished up with a ginger and chilly margarita which she said was excellent. Our waitress recommended it telling us that she thought it was the best cocktail in Oslo. Given that my wife ordered another, she just might agree. All in we paid 800 NOK for nearly three hours in beautiful sunshine, excellent food and cocktails and a great afternoon. Highly recommended.
They did a pretty good job on capturing the flavors and this is coming from a person who lives in Southern California where Mexican food is everywhere. Great job
Amazing service. Waiters were very attentive and welcoming. Fast service and food prep. Constantly filled up our water cups. Decor is cute and bright. As far as the food goes: Let me say that I'm from San Diego, right on the border of Mexico. This was not authentic mexican food, but it was still tasty and the portions were huge. I ordered the carnitas tacos the meat was juicy, but not flavored authentically. Came with rice and black beans and guacamole (which had a nice flavor despite not having chunks of avocado). The boyfriend ordered the steak quesadilla. It had a salsa that resembled Pace Picante sauce inside. Meh...not my cup of tea. Overall, everything was a little bland and not totally authentic, but what can you really expect so far away from Mexico? It was good and I liked it!
First time in Oslo, we decided to try this place after seeing it while strolling in the grunerlokka neighborhood. Friendly staff, but our waiter forgot to put in our order, so I delete one star for having to wait 45 minutes for food. I ordered the Chicken Tinga taco, which was delicious, with apparently home-made corn tortillas, covered with lots of flavorful shredded chicken coated with spicy tomato sauce. Actually there was way too much chicken. It came with a decent dollop of fresh guacamole, good salsa, and weird pickled red onions. There was also a bowl of bland black beans and rice. My wife ordered the fish tacos. Not great: the fish had a too thick batter and the cabbage and carrots were pickled. I guess pickled vegetables are a necessity in a country with as little arable land as Norway. Drinks were good (though diabolically expensive). The $15 margarita had the perfect balance of lime, tequila, and sugar. I'd come here again next time in Oslo. The food had some shortcomings but the atmosphere was fun and the neighborhood is hip.
Great portion sizes and amazing margaritas that I could drink by the liter. Although I tried to order the pulled pork burrito and was told that they were making it right now ...so I said okay I 'll have that and our waitress said oh no , she didn 't speak Norwegian nor English so well so I was a little confused. Besides being lost in translation I had a great time and the food was great, I 'll be back!
