Barnaby's Deli Restaurant - Oshawa

Good homemade food, large portions, fair prices. I am always satisfied after a meal here. It's a very popular breakfast spot but they have great lunch and dinner options too!

We arrived a full hour before closing on a Saturday night, ordered without looking at a menu (we were regulars), the food came quickly and at 7:15 we were eating when the owner and staff decided to flip all the chairs upside down on the tables, close all the blinds, sweep the floor, mop the floor with some kind of bleach that gave off a smell, half the overhead lights turned off without a word to us, as if we shouldn't be bothered by this. I ate as fast as I could just to get out of there, we walked out at 7:45. If they don't want "sit in" customers an hour before closing they should change their sign. I have been coming to this place for years, the wait staff has always been great, the food excellent, but the owner is borderline rude, I will not return. Very disappointed!

Went in with some family members and had breakfast, it was the usual bacon and eggs kind of menu. Nothing special, food was not too bad, two of us had the corn beef hash breakfast and I found that the corn beef was a bit chewy and I ordered rye bread and they charge an extra $0.25 for it, which is not a big deal except the bread was just your basic dempsters rye bread with no flavour. The 3rd person had just a bacon and egg breakfast. Prices were ok, but you can find the same menu and food a bit cheaper if you look around. Service was friendly, just a little slow, the place was packed but it looked like they did not have enough staff working on a Sunday morning. I'll stick to johnny's, the rainbow, or even dines next time.

Good variety on the menu. Great cabbage soup with lots of pepper, good deli meats, beef with mashed potatoes. open kitchen, plentiful portions.

We recently moved from downtown Toronto and had been having difficulty finding a good selection of take-out. Then we found Barnaby's! They have such a robust menu that you can get so many different things - and all excellent quality and taste. I've had their gourmet burger, Chicken Club, Chicken Philly and California Wrap so far. Looking forward to trying their Greek chicken and their breakfast.
