My burger was good, but average, and his chicken was dry and a little crispy. From the long line coming as we went, others think that the food is worth waiting for.
My mom and I stopped in for lunch on way back to Charleston. Trina was our waitress and was very attentive! She checked on us regularly, but not too much. Very pleasant and super friendly. Food was good and quick to the table.
What a delightful lunch! The Calabash Chicken was absolutely delicious, and the bread basket served at the table was a real treat! It had a consistency reminiscent of donuts, and the honey butter made it even more delightful. The hostess staff were exceptional—polite, customer-focused, friendly, and efficient. Our server, Linda, stood out with her attentiveness and warmth. She was always one step ahead of our needs, ensuring our drinks were topped off without us even having to ask. The only downside was the condition of the restrooms; they could use some attention. However, we visited on a busy Sunday at 2 PM, right after a large crowd had dined. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely return next time!
I had a lovely, laid-back meal at South Frit. The baked green tomatoes served with grits were the standout dish for me! The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes and green beans tasted just like home-cooked meals from mom. It wasn’t very busy, but the food came out at a relaxed pace. Everything was delicious and well worth the price, especially if you’re not in a rush. I would definitely return next time I’m in the area!
The food was good, and the waitress initially provided great service. However, once our food arrived, we faced an issue with the utensils – we couldn't get any. We asked three times as our food continued to cool down. Finally, I had to get up and look for our waitress. She then mentioned that someone else would bring us the cutlery. Overall, I’d rate the food a 5, but the lack of follow-up for the utensils would only earn a 2.
