Sayama Grill - Ontario

Upon reading the reviews, it seems they mainly reference Ogawa's experiences. Unfortunately, the food we had was quite bland and lacking in flavor. Our server appeared to be new, which was evident, but she was friendly nonetheless. My wife and I likely won't be returning.

The service is excellent, and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

What they offer doesn't even qualify as authentic Japanese food; it's more like a mix of overly friendly Asian-inspired dishes that are vaguely reminiscent of Americanized Chinese cuisine. To be fair, the taste wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't good either. I tried the garlic shrimp teriyaki bowl with yakisoba. The yakisoba was just bland lo mein (I doubt the chef or owner has ever seen real yakisoba), the shrimp had no flavor whatsoever, and the house "original" teriyaki sauce shouldn't even be called teriyaki—it’s more like false advertising. Additionally, one item on the menu is misnamed; it should be "chirashi," not "chirachi."

Waiting was extremely long for food and green tea that is black. There were 3 people behind the counter and they had only one person waiting tables. Someone dumped her cup and ice fell on the ground and nobody cleaned it up. We won't be back. What's going on in the women's bath is that there are 2 toilets sitting next to each other, without dividers?

Went here on valentines day with my husband and this place was amazing. The staff were nice and the service was quick. Not to mention the food was so satisfying. We will definitely be coming back again soon!
