Fried artichoke appetizer was flavorful with a garlic aioli dipping sauce. Caesar salad was freshly made with a hint of sardines and homemade croutons. My GF got the crusted salmon which cooked to perfection with a tarragon, mustard cream sauce and I had the angus burger with fries which were hand cut. The place was pretty basic with decor but the food was on point and we will surely be back... definitely one of the better small restaurants in town!!!
This restaurant was amazing. We arrived at 5:15 and stayed until 8:40pm with incredible tapas choices and interesting conversations with the bartender Mary and patrons to follow. The tapas were so enjoyable with the unique selections even for vegetarians. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. A must visit to the shoreline visitor and regular. Tell Mary we said hi :
Enjoyed our Black Manhattans. The wait staff was wonderful, appreciated Andrea 's engagement and professionalism. The calamari was good but a little o er fried. Very good hen salad and shrimp pasta special with fresh pesto.
Awesome meal. The hostess was a little rude because we didn't have a reservation, she stated it would take awhile to push two tables together. Then she let us wait after she had arranged the tables and sat someone with a reservation before making her way back to us. It just wasn't necessary. I'm not going to give a poor rating for one rude hostess- but someone should talk to her.
This is my first visit to Red Hen and it was really wonderful. Our server was Olivia, she was very friendly and offered suggestions. She also told us about their awesome specials on different nights of the week and invited us back for them. My husband and I decided to do tapas and share, so we ordered the hen fries, bowl of shells, Rhode Island calamari and the Baja tacos. Everything was really tasty, we really weren't disappointed in anything we ordered and finished every bite. We couldn't decide on dessert, so we ordered two! The cheesecake with blueberry compote and the pecan tart...holy smokes they were both amazing. Again, we finished every bite. We came in at 5:15 on a Saturday night so we could make it to a 6:30 movie and were the first ones there. The room quickly started to fill as there was a show going on at The Kate next door, so I would definitely recommend reservations if you're planning to go on a Friday or Saturday night. Overall it was a really great experience and we will definitely be back.
