I ordered biscuits and gravy, a large fruit and a side of potatoes to go. I was not overly impressed unfortunately. The large fruit bowl $4.50) was not much of bowl at all. A few apple slices, maybe 1/4 of a banana and 8 blueberries. The potatoes $3.00) were not bad but I had asked to make them crispy and they did not honor that request. The order contained 12 diced pieces of potato. The biscuits and gravy $6.50) were a big disappointment. It was two biscuits cut in 1/2 with gravy, although 3 out of the 4 biscuits had small dollops of gravy and not nearly enough to cover them. The biscuits and gravy was bland I had to add a lot of pepper to give them any flavor). The biscuits were not fresh, having hard edges that made me think they were at least a day old. The gravy did nothing to soften the biscuit out. I am still on my quest to find a great place for biscuits and gravy but I can say that Ginger Sue's is certainly not it.
Stopped in for the first time with my Mom for breakfast and a chat. What a nice little spot! Our waitress eas very hospitable. The food was great. We both has the Gravy Scrambler and added their signature bacon on the side. If you like bacon...definitely !!! Get the bacon! It was so crisp and flavorful! The Gravy Sampler was light and fresh. The breakfast potatoes were nice and hot. Their orange juice was the perfect choice to finish the meal. I would highly recommend and would absolutely return when I'm back in town.
Ordered the cookies and Gravy (which was promised to be sausages engraving that was pfeffer). It looked like pepper, but I didn't taste it, and the sausage pieces were little and microscopic. It was warm, not hot, and open had a kind of soap sauce. I also have a bowl with spicy corn soup because it sounded good. It was really very spicy, and I eat Indian and Thai a lot, so I ?spicy?, but I couldn't eat, but a few bites. Maybe next time I try the egg salad that was my second choice. It gets high marks, so I will definitely try again. Service was excellent and friendly.
We were pleasantly surprised to find that, at 10 AM, only five other tables were occupied. I inquired about gluten-free options and was informed that there were many available. However, after we were seated, it took the sweet waitress quite a while to greet us. Although our food arrived quickly, the service then slowed down considerably. My crab omelet was delicious, and my partner really enjoyed his grilled chicken. The prices were great too! The only reason I gave this place a rating of 2 is that, while the food was good and our server was lovely, the service was slower and less attentive compared to other breakfast spots we've visited. It’s definitely worth trying at least once.
