The breads are all made fresh daily and the pastries will tempt anyone to abandon reason and dive into some serious calories. It isn't cheap but it is worth it.
The best Sunday brunch in OKC. The German potato salad is sinfully good. The cookies and other bakery items are amazing. The staff is the friendliest in town.
My review is strictly for the bread and the simple German breakfast. The bread is so good. Be sure and pick up their bread menu which has the days they make which types. Also, one of my favorites is the German breakfast (to go). I forego the potatoes and get the brochen with salami and cheese. Yum! Usually have half for breakfast and the other half for lunch. Salty deliciousness. Cookies and danish are also good. Too bad the coffee is just meh. Never tried the buffet.
Best Restaurant in Oklahoma !!! Anytime I'm in OKC, I will always find time to go to Ingrid's. Everything there is Absolutely Fantastic !!!
After all the hype and recommendations from friends and co-workers, we stopped by Ingrid's on a Sunday morning - and we were very pleased with our service, the food, and the prices! Ingrid's cuisine is a German cuisine, specializing in German comfort food, breakfast, and pastries. The restaurant itself is located on the corner of NW 36th st & Youngs Blvd (or roughly halfway between Penn & May) and is a rather tiny building - which you can feel when you first walk in. It being the first time ever eating at Ingrid's, we were a little confuse if we were supposed to be seated, if it is a "sit-down-yourself" and order when a waiter(ess) gets to you, or if you order at the cashier and then sit yourself down before getting called. Fortunately, a family came in and we soon discovered that it was the latter. After the wave of confusion settled, we finally let our eyes and nose take in everything; if you thought the restaurant looked tiny outside, it looks even TINIER inside (especially with how PACKED and BUSY the restaurant was), but goodness, the smell of fresh pastries, German sausage, and the Sunday brunch buffet had our mouths WATERING. We quickly fell in line (yes, there was a line and a rather long one that nearly had us at the entrance), but the staff taking the orders was quick and efficient (I think we may have waited only a minute or two). After seeing that tantalizing Sunday brunch buffet, we ordered that and their version of French Toast. The brunch consisted of bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and a few pastries; our favorite were definitely the sausage and eggs, and a cherry/strawberry pastry. The French Toast was served with a hot cup of maple syrup (so delicious!) and a slice of orange (I'm assuming to cut down the fat of the rich, goodness that is French Toast). Both our meals were excellent! Our visit was amazing, and we'll definitely be back again to try out their lunch/dinner options and pastries!
