Ahlan Mediterranean Cuisine - Okemos

Such a friendly staff and very helpful with my order, (I am new for Mediterranean/Eastern cuisine), but this is some of the best Mediterranean in Lansing! Founded in 2010, one of the few restaurants in the shopping center is still standing! I'm sorry I didn't try it earlier! HIGHLY RECOMMENDS

This was our first experience with Mediterranean cuisine, and it did not disappoint. The gentleman who served us, whom I believe is the owner, was very polite and patient while suggesting a few dishes. We ordered the chicken shawarma, two pieces, and a samosa. I asked if he knew where to find spicy hummus, and he offered to make some for us. He blended his homemade hot sauce into the hummus, resulting in the perfect level of spice along with an incredible flavor. He assured us that the hummus and chickpeas were fresh and not from a can. The hummus had a wonderfully smooth texture and was completely free of grit. The food was absolutely delicious! The samosa was bursting with flavor, just as promised. I have no regrets about trying this place and am already looking forward to returning.

I had an incredibly delicious chicken shawarma wrap today—probably the best I've ever had. In fact, I'm sure it is the best! It was fresh, hot, moist, and perfectly seasoned. The owner, who seems to run the restaurant himself, is very pleasant and friendly. I will say that while this place usually hits the mark, there have been times when it's missed (the chicken was a bit dry on a previous visit). I think the inconsistency might be due to the relatively low foot traffic here. I rarely see anyone dining in, which is a shame. I wish more people would take a chance on this place because it offers incredibly tasty food that is much healthier than many of the more popular options out there.

I go out for dinner after work, and I often choose chicken and rice with hummus, plus some falafel. It really brightens my day to enjoy a delicious meal and receive great service. The kindness of the owner always brings me joy and makes me smile. I absolutely love this place and am a regular customer.
