The Speckled Perch - Okeechobee

The only place in Okeechobee to get a consistently perfect steak! While some people may find the prices a bit high, I don’t mind paying for a steak that cuts like butter and melts in your mouth! The seasoning is on point, and it's cooked to perfection every time.

I absolutely love this restaurant! We drive all the way from Palm Beach just to eat here. The food and service are fantastic! I always get the French onion soup, ribeye steak, loaded baked potato, and for dessert, the roasted cheesecake.

Many people don’t fully understand the true meanings of "medium," "medium rare," and "rare," but Speckled Perch nails it with their steakhouse style. Most people are accustomed to the big chain restaurants that miss the mark when it comes to cooking steak. The beef here is incredibly flavorful and tender. The French onion soup is among the best I've ever tasted, although it could sometimes be served a bit cooler than I prefer; the servers are more than willing to take it back to reheat it for you. And yes, the fried cheesecake is fantastic. I've stopped spending money on their appetizers because they're just not that great, and to be honest, the main meal portions are so generous that you really don't need them. With vegetables, bread, salad, soup, steak, and sides, you'll leave feeling more than satisfied. My family absolutely loves Speckled Perch—it's one of the few places we visit regularly in the city!

I'm going 2.5 hours to come here. Put your hands down, the best steak we've ever had. And everyone we reject or bring, concurs. We love you!
