Scoop Shack - Ogunquit

As a vegan local I wanted so badly to like this ice cream but it's just bad. We got vegan soft serve (3 varieties) with all the the toppings (most of which were NOT vegan). There were a couple fruit options for toppings and the rest had dairy.. The soft serve itself was just bad. Watered down. Really not good. My son's was inedible in my opinion. The three soft serves cost us $25. They ran out of cash in their drawer and gave us 5 bucks in coins back. The music skippedthe whole time. Basically it's disorganized, overpriced and really just not good. Next time we will be going to get the dairy free options across the st at ben and Jerry's!

We visited this past weekend and found the ice cream to be great including the vegan options. We went at night and it was busy but not a long wait. The staff moved the line through quickly. My daughter loves the cotton candy ice cream. As someone who can not eat dairy I was very happy to try the vegan ice cream. I got a twist of chocolate and vanilla with vegan hot fudge sauce. It was so good I didn't even miss non vegan icecream. Seating was very comfortable. Overall Ifound this shop to be a cute stop in with great options for the whole family. Definitely worth a stop in.

On a warm, beautiful Saturday night, the streets were bustling with people, but this restaurant turned customers away even after they had entered. They simply wouldn't accept any more diners. It's puzzling, especially since Rococo's and Ben & Jerry's were happy to welcome customers.

I tried one of the special flavors that had espresso, and I really enjoyed it. My group of four ordered three small cones, and we could barely finish them because the scoops were so generous. This is definitely one of the better ice cream places I've visited!

One minor drawback is that some of the ice cream can be a bit soft when scooped, likely due to the doors being open during peak hours. However, when I visited during a quieter time, the texture was perfect. I also had a conversation with the cashier, who informed me that the place is under new management and is not affiliated with the previous ice cream shop, Abbott's. They even source their ice cream from different suppliers. They usually stay open until 11 PM during the summer months.
