Sam's Pizza - Oglesby

While traveling out of town, we found ourselves in a bit of a bind on a Sunday night, as many places were closed. I was close to considering divorce over my husband's grumpy demeanor during this trip, but everything changed when he went to Sam's Pizza. He returned with a massive smile and laughter after having a delightful conversation with Sam. It was incredible to see the happier side of him again, and apparently, Sam has quite the sense of humor! To top it all off, the pizza was DELICIOUS! I wish I had gone to pick it up myself to meet Sam, who seems to be a local legend. Thanks to Sam, I’ve saved money on a divorce attorney, salvaged my marriage, and enjoyed a fantastic dinner!

Sam is great, but I really can't say much for the pizza. Doughy crust, sauce just ok, sausage tasteless. Price was great, twelve inch pie for $9. So if I were starving, and broke, would try again. So glad my husband and I stopped here on the way through town. My husband had been here over 20 years ago and remembered it being great then. Sam is kind, menu is simple, the flavor is amazing. This is one of those town favorites, great pizza, Sam's hard working one man show. And everyone keeps coming back for a reason.
