La Casa de la Abuela

Estuvimos allí un viernes por la tarde. Fue una gran escapada del calor con una agradable brisa. Tiene una vista maravillosa del Zócalo. Probamos el mole Colorado y los chiles rellenos. Encontramos ambos platillos excelentes. No dudaríamos en regresar.

Las Enmoladas con Quesillo es un plato muy tradicional y vegetariano que combina mole y queso local. Bonita vista a la catedral, y el personal es servicial y amigable.

Este es un lugar con buena comida local y no tan caro como otros lugares. Prueba los chapulines si eres un poco aventurero.

We loved our visit here! We tried one starter (flowered squash? Or something), and three of us shared four main dishes - chili rellano with pork (highly recommended), mole coloradita (delicious), and the chilaquiles with streak (my personal fave). We all had margaritas, nice and strong. And most dishes were about $99-$150 or so but super reasonable with portions. Of course a great view of the square! Would highly recommend and would go back again. Just be aware the entrance is a bit hidden but you will see it if you walk around the corner!

Of our 5 days in Oaxaca this was by far the poorest restaurant. Wanted somewhere on the zocalo for watching the crowds. That was the only plus. Mediocre food.
