Top Dog - Oakland

I have been enjoying various hot dogs here since my time in Berkeley about 40 years ago. The food is both affordable and delicious, and most importantly, it continues to be great. Two thumbs up! Food rating: 5/5.

Weiner salute! The griddled hot dogs were absolutely delicious. I opted for mine with bacon and grilled onions, and the snap of the sausage skin was fantastic. They also had an excellent selection of condiments, including spicy brown mustard and sauerkraut. We were pleasantly surprised by the local Alameda sodas! Although we don’t typically drink soda, we’re really glad we decided to give them a chance. Overall, it was a great experience with tasty hot dogs at a reasonable price.

This place offers some of the best sausages around and is one of the few establishments where you can enjoy a meal for under $10. My only suggestion would be to add beer to the menu. Food: 5/5

I recently tried the hot dogs at and found them to be delicious. However, I was disappointed with the customer service provided by a young employee at the front. Despite being polite, he seemed disengaged and unhelpful when I asked about toppings. It felt as if I was inconveniencing him. In contrast, the next customer, who happened to be white, received warm and engaging service. I hope the restaurant addresses this discrepancy, as a positive customer experience should be consistent for all patrons.
