Hopscotch - Oakland

Tiny space but service and food were great. From the oysters hopafeller to the fried chicken with the gem salad in between--everything was delicious and generous in size for sharing.

Cute place, but the food is marginal. I was expecting something much better. At the price, I would find another restaurant to patronize there are so many good ones around!

Everything we ordered was excellent, appetizer, main and dessert. Our waiter was attentive but not obtrusive. Noise level was such that we could enjoy a nice conversation. Restaurant is very cute, reminded us of Europe. Loved it!

Enjoyed trying this neighborhood gem. Staff was very accommodating with seating, we chose the annex space next to the main restaurant. It was a bit quieter. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars but our cocktails were very slow to be served. The bartender seemed to be preoccupied, maybe they need an additional bar person. The food was spectacular! Halibut scallops cooked perfectly seasoned to perfection. I will definitely go back.

Hopscotch has delicious food, try the Caesar with cornbreaded oysters, yum. Also, the fried chicken is juicy, crunchy and terrific. It's a tiny restaurant, so best to book ahead. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly.
