Mikado Japanese - Oakland Park

It used to be my favorite sushi place but things have changed. I used to get food there once a week but not coming back there anymore. I called in for order like I normally would and ordered the same rolls I always order but I was charged way more than I used to. I mean I understand that food prices had gone up but not that much. I was charged $5 more for the same roll I always ordered. On top of it they didn't put cream cheese in JB roll. I paid $45 for nothing. Left a tip like always but never coming back. That's horrible business! So disappointed

The website is has prices significantly lower than what you will actually pay. Beware of this! 2x $14.95 rolls and 1x $10.95 roll on their website $41 before tax) it came to $63 w/ tax) after their “new prices due to inflation and covid” . a $20 increase over your advertised price is insane. Make sure you understand the prices before you order from here.

A 40+ year old establishment that looks underwhelming at first glance. We were incredibly touched by the owner and the chef. We drove by later in the evening so were the last ones to eat. The owner sat down next to us at the sushi bar and we had a long conversation like old time friends. The warmest welcome imaginable. Generous portions of yummy sushi. Highly recommended.

Great ambiance, quite and intimate. Great service and food. Shrimp dumplings were so good i couldn't even get a photo . Mexican roll with plantains on top, BOMB.com!

We stopped in for an early dinner having been here a long time ago. There was nobody in the restaurant at 6:00 pm and I believe the owner initially waited on us and then disappeared. For the rest of the meal a guess a busboy of some kind waited on us but didn't speak much English. Once in a while the owner would pop out from the back as the busboy didn't understand what we we're looking for. There are also stupid charges for insider out rolls spicy rolls..... I guess there more interested in your purchase of the expensive fancy rolls. The clincher which I knew before coming was that they still put the tax in the tip even though it's mother and son running the place. I really don't see us coming back anytime soon even though the food was ok.
