Winberie's Restaurant & Bar - Oak Park

I just experienced this place for the first time today My friend decided to take me to a place I never been to before.

Yelp! forces me to give a star even though I wouldn't necessarily I was celebrating my birthday with family that was in town from out of state.

Winberies is THE BEST place to grab a drink near Oak Park and Lake.

It was wonderful! Great service, friendly atmosphere in a semi formal space and incredibly tasty (and creative but not beyond) food!

This restaurant is not my type of place. The bar had very loud and rowdy customers, even though it was empty. The tasting menu was not worth the money, with small portions and average food quality. I was told the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild, but they were actually very spicy and unpleasant. I had to spit them out, which was embarrassing. They replaced it with asparagus, their only vegetable option. The service was forgetful, as I had to ask for water when my glass was empty. The seating options were uncomfortable, with backless benches in the bar area. Overall, not a place for those looking for a satisfying and balanced meal. The coffee after the meal was the only highlight.
