Labriola Cafe-oak Brook

It was my first visit, and I was eager to try the place. The menu had plenty of great options. I went with the Margherita pizza and a salad, and the Neapolitan-style pizza was outstanding! The atmosphere was lovely, and I never felt rushed. I’ll definitely return!

I wasn't particularly fond of the order-at-the-counter system where you wait for your food to be brought to you. I was hoping for a more traditional dining experience with a server, especially since it was a date. On the plus side, it was nice not having to leave a hefty tip on top of the food and drink prices. However, standing in line to order a salad, then a pizza, and finally dessert wasn't ideal. The food was decent; the pizza crust and pretzel bun desserts were definitely enjoyable, thanks to the bakery aspect.

I always enjoy trying new dishes, and the salmon with asparagus rice was incredibly tasty. Thank you for another wonderful dining experience!

I was extremely disappointed with the handling of my recent visit to La Briola! Granted it was an extra points night and the place was crowded but the staffs handling of the situation was horrible. Being greeted by a long line wasn’t unexpected, but I had a reservation from Open Table. There were only 2 people taking orders and one left after he took an order! Now we were down to one person, they called someone from in back to take orders. When we got to the register and were placing our order we were told they were out of all the specials for the evening, the roasted chicken, the salmon and several other options! This was only a little after 6! The register operator had no idea how the points were being credited and when asked who we saw about our reservation he looked at me blankly and asked “what reservation?” I explained that we had a reservation from Open Table for 6 at 6:15 he said he’d have to ask a manager. He never asked my name and then wanted to know if we were all there and what we wanted to eat! I had just finished placing my order, each one of us had ordered individually so we had the correct order! Very unprofessional and a little disappointing. I am at La Briola on a regular basis, have been going to the restaurant since it open in 2008, and the quality of the food and service is usually excellent, have even been to other events where everything was handled smoothly but this last encounter was anything but good.

This was my first visit. I thought it was a sit down restaurant but it 's a place your order and they bring it to your table place. Which is fine, I just didn 't expect it. Servers were great. It was Saturday morning and they had a bunch of catering orders going out that look really tasty. I would return but I would like to visit the bakery side as well.
