The lunch specials include a pot of hot tea or soda with unlimited refills. My husband and I have a good relationship with the staff now after eating there often. We like their regular Chinese dishes and the Dim Sum. There are two locations in Tampa: Hillsborough Avenue and South Dale Mabry. They have the best Chinese food and Dim Sum. We have gotten to know Ricardo, Luis, Denise, Eaton, Chase and most of the lunch staff.
Heard great things and always looking for the next best Chinese food restaurant. While this is a really nice place with a large open interior and great service, the food is good but not fantastic. The listed egg rolls are really spring rolls but they were hot and fresh. The fried wontons were also good but not the best we’ve ever had and the dipping sauce bland. The Salt Pepper wings were good, very crisp and hot so that’s a plus one. The scallops and shrimp in black bean sauce was tasty but very lite in the scallop and shrimp portions. The chicken fried rice was bland and again very lite in the chicken portion. Malaysia chow fun was ok just bland and again lite in the meat and fish portions. The pork dish was the stand out of the night. What white rice with your food, well that’s a dollar extra per person which makes no sense. Give it a try you may enjoy it.
This place has just opened in the area where I live. We tried it when it first opened and the food was really good but after that, it was terrible. I thought the chef must be having a bad day or something so we gave it another try. I had crispy beef in honey sauce. I have never tasted anything so bad. There was definitely no beef, just batter and the so called honey sauce was just sugary water. I will never visit this place again.
Called the restaurant to see if I needed to make a reservation for dinner. On the phone, I was told that they didn't take reservations, just to come on in. When the four of us got there and went to the hostess area, we were told that the wait would be an hour with all the reservations that were ahead of us. Others that were also waiting, heard my conversation, and about 8 to 10 people left immediately. They could have handled this better on the phone. No apology was offered.
This place had some bomb dim sum and Chinese food. My cousins and I went on a random weekday and this place was packed. The shumai, rice crepe, hargow, shrimp dumplings, sweet buns, and other traditional dim sum dishes were on point. I would avoid the Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings. The inside of the XLB's didnt have a lot of meat or soup. Prices are fair and service was really quick. The location itself is very clean and you can order traditional dishes during lunch time as well. Noise level is low and they have seating for large parties. I see why they are voted one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area.
