We had dinner with ten other friends here, and the meal was delicious! Both my hubby and I had the Claim to Fame fried chicken dinner. He also ordered the fried deviled eggs. These deviled eggs were amazing!! Never had anything like it, and you probably haven 't either! You HAVE to try these (if you like deviled eggs . SO good! The fried chicken dinners were very good as well. The batter was crisp and the meat was juicy. What else can you ask for? Oh...the seasoning was perfect too! The chicken was the star of the plate. Yes, mashed potatoes and green beans were good...but the chicken!! Definitely make a reservation. This place was hopping on a Saturday night. The service was excellent as well : .
Wow this place is incredible. The fried chicken is among the best I've ever had. Not spicy but incredibly tasty. perfectly fried with really moist meat and crunchy batter. evenly coated. No broken skin just perfection. You get half a chicken. Way too much for just one meal. The cocomut cake was amazing. OMG totally worth it from someone who doesn't really eat cake. The chocolate chip biscuits are really like cupcakes. Lots of sugar and great complimentary item. I opted for the fries instead of mashed. and decided I should have stuck with the mash potatoes.
Excellent food and service. We were a party of 10 and had one of the private dining rooms. The food was delicious and we had quite an assortment. Started with the Fried Deviled Eggs, Sweet Potato Beignets, Fried Green Tomato Pie Gratinée and Blue Grass Fondue. All of the were excellent! I had the Claim to Fame Fried Chicken Dinner and it was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Bourbon selection was one of the best around. This place is legit!!!
Beautiful location and building in Newport, KY. Great service and a wide variety menu. Our group enjoyed many dishes and made positive comments about their food. Not many vegan options that didn't involve fried food. I finally settled on the faux chicken dish and requested that the faux chicken not be served just leaving the rice and sauce. It was ok. I don't recommend the praline nuts. They were soft and not crunchy as would be expected. Our group of six didn't finish them. The wine list was good and we ordered a couple bottles of red to enjoy with our meal. Overall, a nice evening out. Hoping they expand their vegan options.
