I went to The W and F for lunch yesterday with a friend and it was my first visit. The atmosphere was lovely and the food and service were excellent. I will definitely be recommending it to others.
Absolutely awful. Booked for 11am, got put on a low coffee table although it had been reserved for ages. Waited 1 hr and 15 for brunch and that was after complaining. Poached eggs were hard boiled. Pancakes were disgusting. One of the waitresses was too busy chatting to a friend at the bar to bother asking if anything wrong. Left to a young girl to handle all the complaints, who was brilliant but rushed off her feet. Quality of food less than poor. Service non existent. Was supposed to be celebrating the birthday of a dear friend who’s no longer with us and it was just an utter disaster. We have been offered all the food and one bottle of Prosecco free!!! Not the point. You need to up your game. Been here loads of times, never experienced it this bad before!!!
Food was great worth the price, but found the high table quite uncomfortable, had booked and told this was only one available when booked so accepted as cant be helped, so was surprised when others came in after who hadn't booked they were given normal tables chairs, for this reason only won't be returning seemed unfair, also not very warm atomosphere, although young lady with dark hair appeared freindly nice.
Not sure what happened here, heard really good things, good reviews and the photos of the food look lovely. Got there and it was empty. I reserved a table with low seating but was given a high seating one after being told everything was reserved.. despite it being empty and 16:30? The menu is small, now I appreciated a small menu but there was not a lot of variation. Smallest menu I’ve ever had. The bread and olives were lovely! I’d recommend those but it’s a shame about the main. I had an aubergine steak stake and it was cold through. The vegetable was so tough I had to use my partners steak knife! There wasn’t a lot of sauce, I ended up just having cold cous cous as a main. My partner asked for rare steak and got well done. I feel like the recipes are good but they need better execution. Such a shame had really high hopes!
