Sails American Grill - Norwalk

Some things were great. Some things were not (calamari). Service was slow to start but then improved. I would try again and order something else. Totally cute place and everyone was very nice.

There's a wide variety on this menu so I was concerned about the quality of meal. Each different thing we ordered came out better than the next . From sushi , dumplings to the seafood. The food was amazing. We'll be back !

Not sure how you ruin a lobster roll, but somehow Sails figured it out. Lobster, when you could find it, was overcooked and dried out. It was simply terrible. The tables are incredibly close together, and the noise level is far and above the loudest ever experienced in any restaurant. Throw in poor service and you have a good reason to skip this place. We will.

Getting to dine outdoors at Sails on a summer evening is heavenly... good food, friendly patrons, lovely setting. The only ingredient missing last night was an attentive waiter. We watched others seated after us get drinks, then appetizers. We had to ask for a waiter to come, and he had to be chased down for every course, including the one he brought by mistake. i hope Sails can train or have a manager oversee service to restore the great evening they normally offer.

Generally like Sails, but the dinner experience last evening was disappointing. The hostess likely a high school or college student was rude on the phone and when we got to the restaurant. She grunted on the phone to my wife when we pushed back our reservation 15 minutes. Then, when we got there, there were several open tables, but she chose to put us at the worst table in the restaurant closest to the front door where everyone must walk by. Then, when a manager moved my daughter and I to a better table, upon my request, the hostess ignored my wife when, returning from the ladies room, she asked her where we had been moved to. And unfortunately, the food was not as good as usual. Think they could have been understaffed.
