We visited for lunch and the food dishes we had ranged from very poor to mediocre. My wife’s parmesan and pea risotto resembled a thick stodgy porridge and was inedible. To make matters worse, the young man who was serving us had a really bad attitude when I checked to make sure we weren’t being charged for the risotto. Will not be returning. Price per person: £20–30

A typical English pub nestled in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. A select daily menu with a well priced senior citizens 3 course choice but lots of specials on the boards. Food was decent and the vegetables were freshly cooked and crunchy. Service was passable. Tied it once and ticked a box but I will provably venture elsewhere next time. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie and vegan options. Parking: Barely any parking. Kid-friendliness: Kid and dog friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.
