Wok with yu - North York

We absolutely adore this restaurant. Despite passing several other Hakka restaurants, we make the 30-minute drive specifically for their delicious chili chicken. The dinner portions are always generous and the service is fantastic.

This was the worst Hakka food I have ever tried. We ordered a lot of food for takeout and only one out of 9 dishes was good. The fish pakora were small pieces of batter, the paneer was hard and dried out, the corn soup was watery, the Hakka chow mein was just regular Chinese chow mein with no Hakka noodles or flavor, the fried rice was sticky, the beef was tough and dry, the mango salad was okay but too spicy, the Manchurian chicken tasted more like ketchup chicken with no Manchurian gravy or flavor, and the chili fish was dry but decent. What a disappointment and a waste of calories!

If you enjoy spicy Hakka cuisine and don't mind dining at a strip mall, this is the place for you: WWY is a great combination of cheap, cheerful and tasty! I was in the area on business and spotted this place and thought I'd try it. It's clean and friendly and the price is right: the classic spicy chicken with rice and a coke was $10.70! What I liked about their version is that they do a nice blend with vegetables. The rice portion is also generous. Was in and out in 20 minutes as well.

I had high hopes for this restaurant since I am a fan of Chinese, Hakka, and Asian cuisine in general. It is conveniently located near my office, so I decided to stop by for some takeout. The exterior of the plaza where the restaurant is located did not do it justice, as the interior was beautifully decorated with modern tables. There were a few people dining in and some getting takeout orders. The lady who took my order was friendly and efficient, with great customer service skills. I opted for the vegetarian Tofu lunch special, which she recommended. However, when I opened my lunch at the office, I was disappointed to find plain, cold rice with only three pieces of Tofu and minimal vegetables. I had paid extra for the vegetables, but there were hardly any to speak of. I felt like I got a very basic meal for the price I paid. Despite wanting to like this place, I won't be returning as the lunch special was not special at all. I considered calling the restaurant to ask about my order, but ultimately decided against it. It's a shame, as I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant given its proximity to my workplace. Please see attached photo for reference.

Came in and ordered the Chicken with egg friend rice, and the rice ended up having small but jaggedy bones in it. I chopped my tooth and cut my gums, the manager told me they will give me a 1 discount and that's the best they can do! So now I have 100s of in dental work and a possible infection as a result of going here! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
