フィードバックを提供するWe dined here for 2 nights, during our stay at Rydges, what a disappointment, we expected better. The Rib Eye Bone In Steak was without a doubt the toughest steak we have ever eaten (that is a big call). The 250 gram Angus Scotch Fillet was just horrible and again the worst Scotch Fillet I have ever eaten. (big call) Despite ordering Medium Rare and Medium Well, both steaks were cooked the same. The Garlic Prawns were nice- although there were only 3, this was a little light on, 4-6 would have been the expected quantity. The Pizza and Pork Belly were satisfactory. The Caesar Salad, is served as whole Cos leaves and therefore cannot be easily shared amongst the table as a side salad. The service is terrible, but at least consistent, as both nights we received the same poor service, the staff did not no offer us Tea, Coffee or a Dessert menu, we had to ask to see that. There was offer of a second drink between Entree and Main courses. The staff appeared to be obsessed with resetting the tables for breakfast, rather than attending to the needs of the dinning patrons.Very, very disappointing to say the least.
I love paella and constantly search for a good one but am constantly disappointed and this one was no different. Service was excellent but I should have stuck to what I know...steak. It looked impressive on entering the restaurant but taste wise....horrible and a poor choice. For better value stick to the traditionally food, it is fresh, well served and tastes better than the exotic sounding dishes.
Ate here mid October. Restaurant is in the Rydges Hote and only ate here because I was staying at Rydges. After 9pm on a weekday, don't expect to be seated in the restaurant. I had to sit at the low level bar tables. Food took a while but was quite nice when it came. I had the grilled salmon. It was about $30-$35. Bread roll will cost you an additional $2, although they threw one in for me as I paid when I ordered. The whole scene there is a bit dark and dingy to be honest. I don't think I'd eat there again. I couldn't even get seated on the 2nd night and there was hardly anyone eating there. So I went somewhere else. Chef did a good job with the Salmon but I felt that the wait-staff let the kitchen down. They need to get this sorted or people will turn away.
I went down for dinner while staying in the hotel. The staff were friendly and although the menu was limited, the food was very tasty and well presented. I enjoyed what I had immensely.
I ate here because I was staying at the hotel, unfortunately. The food was microwaved and "ok" but for the price, I expected far better. Rydges do have a habit of over charging, you only need to look at the in-room mini bar or the full sized bar in the hotel to realise that they are rip-off merchants. Food was ok but clearly microwaved sides, the main chicken element do my dish was ok, nothing special though. I only ate here because of the occurrences in Martin place that night. I haven't eaten at the hotel since and have found some fantastic local alternatives which are well priced, tastier and on the whole, run rings around Mundo. Won't be back that's for sure. The brekky at the cafe is just as bad! I recommend exploring the local area for a much more personal and tasty experience!
