Waldo's Chicken And Beer North Little Rock

The newly opened location is impressive! I ordered the 1/4 buttermilk fried chicken with collard greens and white beans, and the flavor was outstanding. However, I felt the portion size for the combo chicken meal was a bit small for the $10.99 price tag. I think adding one more drumstick would make it a better value, or perhaps providing a larger piece of chicken instead of the rather tiny portions they serve. Overall, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious!

Let's begin with the positives. I received my meal just 5 minutes after sitting down, which is impressive considering how busy they were. Unfortunately, there were several downsides. I ordered the 1/4 dark chicken plate with fries and mac and cheese, but I didn't receive the biscuit that was supposed to come with it. The mac and cheese was decent, but somewhat lacking in flavor. The shoestring fries were overcooked, and some were so hard that I couldn't pierce them with a fork. As for the chicken, it was disappointing due to the lack of seasoning and the taste of being fried in old grease. Additionally, they didn't provide lids for the 16-ounce cups. Overall, I don't see the need to return.

The experience felt like organized chaos, likely because we visited during a busy time. You order at the counter, and then they call your name or look for your table number, but many people forget to display their numbers. This leads to staff wandering around calling out names. It would be much simpler if they had a different system in place, but the food was absolutely delicious. We tried the original chicken sandwich, which had perfectly crispy chicken with fantastic flavor. I ordered the French fries, while Leslie had the potato wedges. The French fries were thinly cut and incredibly tasty. I'm not sure what seasoning they used besides salt—maybe a hint of garlic and onion powder—but they were outstanding. The menu is extensive enough that we’ll need to return to try the wings and beer. They also offer adult slushies that we want to experience, along with a Waldo Rita on tap. It looks like we’ll need a few visits to ensure it’s as good as we think!
