--- I've been around many places, including Fish's in Pasadena, Pomona, and various spots in both the San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel Valley, from Van Nuys to Sun Valley. With that experience in mind, I can say that it’s rare to find a mom-and-pop restaurant offering a variety of cultural foods with the right utensils. Typically, food stands like this often provide flimsy forks, spoons, sauce cups, paper bags, and napkins. This restaurant deserves a star or two just for their quality, durable Kirkland-brand supplies. Nobody wants to tackle a hearty meal with a flimsy fork. The food itself was quite good, and the day after my visit, I had some of the leftover carne asada burrito for lunch! On my way to a friend's place in Sun Valley the next day, I decided to stop by for some tacos around 11 AM on a weekday. I packed my meal in a spicy bag, but when I got to my destination, I realized I had forgotten my food—except for the sauces and limes! I felt rushed and mistakenly overlooked my tacos. My friends were definitely hungry, so I quickly decided to go back. Unfortunately, I couldn't reach the staff by phone to communicate my order when I tried. My friend even warned me because she had trouble communicating with them before. This was the only issue I faced at this place. Communication is key in the business, and it would be beneficial for at least one person to have a basic grasp of English to assist customers. I truly appreciate and respect hardworking people from all backgrounds, but it’s important to acknowledge that, in a diverse city like LA, we could all benefit from a common language. It's not just about business; it’s about creating a welcoming environment and facilitating connections. Overall, let’s work towards making each experience enjoyable for both staff and customers. --- I hope this captures your sentiments while making the review a bit clearer!
Absolute trash. Meat was under cooked had more fat than meat. salsas tasted sour . We were eating at the car when we saw the cook pick his nose and then touch the food. With all the other great stands around . This by far the worst tasting and had the worst hygiene by far. Foul tasting food but that might just be the cooks special ingredient P.S. I believe they moved to corner of oxnard and Riverton.
This is an excellent place that truly deserves more recognition and reviews. I'm always on the lookout for great taco trucks, and this one is the best I've found in NoHo. I've tried Pablito's, 1986, and El Venado, but Soloma stands out above the rest. Definitely give them a try; you won't be disappointed!
