The Ruddy Duck - North Down

We tried to order from The Ruddy Duck tonight, but after rushing to get there before closing, at 8.55pm we arrived at the restaurant only to be told they weren't taking any more orders. Absolutely shocking service given we went to extra effort to get there on time and they clearly had food available. Awful service and they clearly don't give a toss about customers. We won't be back.

The fish and chips at this restaurant are delicious and the staff is very friendly. The prices are great and the wait time is reasonable. I will definitely be returning. Thank you!

The best fish and chips we've ever had! It was the highlight of our trip to Holywood. We loved it so much that we went back twice in one week. What more can you ask for?

I have to share how much we loved our fish and chips at the Ruddy Duck yesterday. My husband had the smoked fish, while I ordered hake with chips. The fish was freshly coated in a light and crispy batter, and the chips were absolutely delicious. The batter was perfect and the fish was succulent, while the chips were some of the best I've had in a long time. Other fish and chip shops should strive to meet the standard set by the Ruddy Duck. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who patiently explained the menu to some customers during their lunch. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back soon.

Awful Carryout Service is terrible Long wait 1/2 an hour for two items? and not the usual high standard of food. Have the original crew left? It would be sad to see this long established food outlet go the same way as others in Holywood for the want of properly trained service staff.
