フィードバックを提供するWe have a "tradition' to have our jubilee in the afternoon, but this has become more difficult in recent years as my man has discovered that he is lactose intolerant and we have already been vegetarian, so we are now quite much vegan. we couldn't blame. this vegan afternoon tea. original (also a little quirky! , beautifully made and absolutely delicious. made even mor special with a bottle 'dorsecco' or kieved cider. friendly and attentive staff and a beautiful atmosphere. we couldn't eat anything so that everything was in the generous spread so that everything was left for us to take home. we will definitely be back and recommend to look for this place.
Lucky break, after our first choice was closed, followed satnav to another cafe whilst in our way to Devon in July, spotted the signs for this cafe and so glad we did. What a warm and safe welcome from the staff, cosy atmosphere and breakfasts...that can’t be faulted. Returned again today and glad to say that nothing has changed, food and service are still exceptional and priced fairly. Worth a detour if you’re travelling on the A30/303, you won’t regret it.
Drove out to Spire Hill Farm, approx 2 miles out of Stalbridge towards Sturminster Newton. Booked in advance for afternoon tea to avoid disapointment. Covid procedures in place with screens between each table, staff wearing masks and sanitiser at the door. Had an amazing afternoon...tea today with some lovely additional touches of fresh strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrents on the plate surrounding the cream tea. A three tiered stand arrived with sandwiches on the top level, cream tea in the middle with homemade scones and luxurious mini cakes on the bottom tier. It was highly indulgent and tasted fabulous a real treat for my friend and I. The tea tasted lovely too, good strong flavour and the pot was large and replenished as required. Staff were charming and attentive. A really decadent treat and we loved it, just what we needed and guaranteed to cheer you up. Thank you for making our visit so special. Doggy bag required!! See you again x
We have dined at this restaurant before and it was absolutely lovely in every aspect. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the ambiance was charming, especially with the presence of Oscar the tortoise. However, our recent visit left us a bit disappointed. While there was nothing terrible about it, the service was lacking and the breakfast was just okay. I may have made the mistake of ordering something too simple for my taste, but the baked beans could definitely be improved. I appreciate the use of small producer products, but these two were missing and had a tough texture. Additionally, the veggie black pudding was not very flavorful. It's possible that this visit was just an off day, but I expected more from this place. Despite this, we still plan on returning as I believe our last experience was not the norm. P.S. The cream tea looked amazing!
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! My dad and I regularly visit and it never fails to impress. It is without a doubt the best breakfast I have had in the entire country. As a British sales manager who has traveled to Britain and Iceland and tried breakfast in many hotels, nothing compares to this place - not even the breakfast at the Ritz in London! If you find yourself in North Dorset, be sure to check out this restaurant/cafe.
