Stumbled across this place earlier this evening and what a nice surprise. Quite a cool place in a very nice bit of the old town. Staff pleasant and friendly and in my opinion reasonably priced at eight euros for a hot dog and drink. Hot dog was really good with nice toppings and very tasty, in fact what I would call a proper hot dog. Biggest compliment i could give would be to say it was better than the last hot dog i had which was in Las Vegas and if you are beating the Americans at their own game, well enough said.
We ordered from them because we have heard many good things about this place. I am VERY disappointed- the bread was dry, cheese on it tasted like cardboard, sausage was dry at the ends. I paid 1€!! extra for jalapenos and I didn't even got them. This place is very overpriced, 2,5€ for 40gr of chips? Small Ben (150ml) is almost 5€? Even if they would give hotdogs for 3€, it would not be worth it, sorry!
Best hot dogs I've ever tried so far, truly amazing! Place is extremely welcoming as well as the staff
Having a hot dog in the gastronomic city of Nice wouldn't normally be at the top of the food to do list. But 5th Avenue Le Comptoir du Hot-Dog - didn't disappoint. Think of it as a Shoreditch pop-up eatery, but packed with Niçoise flare. Its enthusiastic owners produce delicious hot dogs - using fresh local ingredients to offer a menu of house classics and gourmet dogs. I had a Jacques Chichi with a merguez sausage, freshly baked bread, Camembert, mustard and onions. My hubby had an Obama dog - with a pork sausage - cheddar cheese, onions and ketchup. They definitely produce celebrity hot dogs with star quality. We will be back to try the Castro and the Dalaï Lama next. * * * * * * Ils produisent certainement des hot-dogs de célébrité avec la qualité d'étoile.
