The Farmhouse Cafe

Loved the beautiful setting as we were seated on the patio of the farmhouse cafe close by the vineyards. It had a laid-back vibe that was the perfect atmosphere for a pleasant and relaxed afternoon lunch in wine country. The food was delicious - great sandwiches, sides, and local fish. Food and wine were very reasonably priced, especially compared to many other winery restaurants in the area, this place has wonderful value for their lunch menu! Would definitely return for another wonderful lunch at this lovely spot!

We enjoyed lunch here. This is a cross between a mid-range restaurant (the food is very good) and back road farmhouse eatery. Very cool. We enjoyed a glass of their local white wine, a gourmet parsnip soup and sandwich. My kids had burgers and fries. All were priced reasonably. The waitress was very attentive although they were busy. I got the feeling that they were busy every lunchtime.

A few of the locals working at the nearby wineries recommended The Farmhouse Cafe to us for lunch and I'm glad they did. Of all the places we ate during our stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake, including a few of the fancy ($$$$) restaurants, this was our favorite. A simple bacon cheeseburger with a beet salad really hit the spot. Highly recommend.

We loved their wine and the friendly people that we met. We had a hard time only buying 6 bottles!!!! We came back for lunch and we were not disappointed. Everything was excellent. The Rib eye sandwich was perfect and the beet salad was so very good. The Ruben needed more sauerkraut but lots of meat. The poutine was fabulous. We loved the wall eye fish.

I really thought this would be a pretentious place, where they brag about their wines and everything becomes therefore expensive. Completely wrong. Food is simple but great; great taste, great price and for everybody. Local wines are really good, and by the glass, you can try a couple so you get the complete idea.
