フィードバックを提供するJapone is one of my favourite sushi places in Sydney! They offer fusion and artistic looking sushi’s, and even baked to fried sushis! Yum! I’ve realised that customers have complained about the wait time, but Japone makes sushi like art and tastes amazing. I really wouldn’t mind waiting for sushis that are amazing and aren’t overpriced either. A favourite of many is the sashimi tacos, a fusion of jap and mex made in heaven! Also got baked mussels, which are in their baked special sauce If you are a fan of aburi sushi, then you will love Japone spicy salmon roll, or spicy tuna roll. My personal favourites here Also love the golden dragon roll, with tempura prawn sushi topped with their special sauce also having scallop
I recently visited this restaurant with a friend for a light dinner. We ordered appetizers and mains. The food took a while to arrive, about 30 minutes. The waitstaff were friendly and always smiling. One server seemed to be rushing to the kitchen even when she had nothing in her hands, suggesting that the slow service may have been due to understaffing. When the food did arrive, it was worth the wait. The dishes were delicious and nicely presented. While the prices were reasonable for Newtown, they may have felt expensive if the restaurant was located in the city. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual meal with friends or a romantic date, as the atmosphere is perfect for both.
Japone Sushi serves extremely fresh produce, an exciting range of entrees and a refreshing fusion of flavours that set it apart from a relatively crowded Japanese food scene.<br/ <br/ For me two signature dishes stand out:<br/ <br/ Sashimi Tacos $12, Cold Entree): Crispy tacos with a filling of silky salmon and tuna brought together by a rich spicy miso sauce and topped with fresh guacamole. It's such a fantastic fusion of flavours and an interesting set of textures that makes for an exciting start to any meal.<br/ <br/ Popcoron Shrimp $12, Hot Entree): Simple prawn tempura in a crunchy batter, a bit more substantial than the normal tempura batter, tossed in a spicy sauce. While a simple dish indeed, it's the combination of the fresh prawn, crunchy batter and creamy sauce that makes this dish a winner.<br/ <br/ Japone Sushi has an extensive entree selection that includes the classics such as edamame, karaage and tempura as well as a bunch of unique creations, especially with the cold entrees.<br/ Chef Yanni Lay brings his extensive culinary experience to this menu and I understand that his New York influences contribute to the fusion element of the dishes served. <br/ <br/ I did try out the sushi rolls but they didn't work for me as the take away option meant it was served in a box container that squashed the pieces. Moreover, I must note that the portions were massive and not the most bite size friendly.<br/ <br/ If you're looking for a change to the standard sushi options or would like to try out some exciting entrees, Japone Sushi is an excellent spot that can't be ignored.
Absolutely fantastic sushi restaurant that serves unique and innovated Japanese food. They have interesting mix of maki rolls on sushi trains as well highly creative al la carte menu options. Their sashimi quality is top notch, faultless cuts and incredible freshness. I was so impressed with quality of each dish. I especially enjoyed Tuna Tartare and kingfish ceviche roll. They look beautiful and taste was amazing. The only thing I didn't like was the Oyster shooters; it was made with super fresh oysters I saw chef opening the oysters) but unfortunately the mix of sweet sake and mirin sort of ruin the flavor of the oyster. My suggestion is make it with dry sake minus the mirin with a slice of lime would make this shot much more palatable.
Good place to enjoy Japanese taste. And I can see wall painting in restaurant. Very nice food and price.
