Green Parrot - Newtown

I would not recommend hosting your private event at this venue. They are extremely disorganized; my emails bounced back, and I received conflicting information regarding my booking. Although I was initially assured of certain arrangements, when the week of the party arrived, they presented a different story. There was no contract provided, and all communication was done over the phone since their email system was unreliable. This lack of documentation led to numerous unfulfilled promises. Fortunately, I managed to get a refund and found another place to host my event at the last minute, but the entire experience was a major hassle.

I ordered the Nachos Appetizer with cheese, salsa, jalapeños, and sour cream, and it arrived on a round pizza-style pan, stacked high like a mountain. There was enough to easily feed six people. Unfortunately, the cheese, salsa, and sour cream were all thrown on top with nothing underneath, leaving the majority of the chips dry and plain. The chips were greasy, and the whole dish was quite unappetizing. On a positive note, I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. This was my first visit, and I'm planning to try dinner next time to see if it's better. One suggestion: if it's listed as an appetizer, it should be portioned like one, not enough for four to six people!

The bar area has an amazing atmosphere, with college football showing on every TV. The service and food were excellent, and there’s an impressive selection of IPAs. I will definitely be returning soon!

Food wasn't very good. Drinks weren't either. Same goes for the service. The wings would have been good if they put more than a drop off sauce on them.

The food was very good, but experience was ruined by TONS of flies around the bar crawling all over our food.
