Mustard Cafe - NEWPORT COAST

I’m not sure why this restaurant doesn’t have better reviews, but I’m a huge fan of local eateries that serve outstanding food, and this place certainly fits the bill! I was on the hunt for a great breakfast spot in Irvine and stumbled upon this hidden gem. My coworkers are obsessed with many items on the menu. The Eggs Benedict, French Toast, and the classic two eggs are all favorites! As a French Toast enthusiast, I can confidently say that I haven’t found a place that makes it as perfectly as Mustard Cafe does! I’ve been trying to sample a variety of dishes, and everything has been fantastic so far. Thank you for the delicious food! Please keep up the amazing work! I’m already looking forward to my next breakfast visit. I absolutely love this place!

The service was excessively slow. While the food tastes great, I had to wait over 30 minutes just for a single dish to arrive.

I really enjoyed the turkey sandwich, but the Monte Cristo was quite disappointing—it wasn't a true Monte Cristo at all. So far, I've loved everything except the fries and that Monte Cristo, which were just terrible. I definitely wouldn't recommend ordering the Monte Cristo.

This potato pancake lox egg Benny was fantastic delicious. At the first attempt of this place and glad I ordered it. Coffee is also beautiful.

Perhaps they were just overwhelmed last Sunday (2/9/22). Perhaps they have s new cook. In any event, we were s party of 6 and ordered within minutes of each other. The first order came out in about 15 or 20 minutes. The second order came out in about 30 minutes. The last order came out in about 45 minutes. The food was okay, however the French fries were cold. My club sandwich was served on a baguette, so it was a turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich since it wasn't the traditional three slices of bread club sandwich. I might go back in a few months or at least at a time when it isn't busy.
