Sidedoor - Newport Beach

The service started well and then went quite fast to the hill. waited 20 minutes for salt/peffer and had to ask the server again and he pretended we never asked. it took 30 minutes to get our neck and pay it.

Forgot one of our ordered items, said they would remove it from the bill and didn't. The $28 eggplant dish was terrible, no kidding, terrible.

Our dinner at SideDoor was wonderful. We started with crab cakes and mussels which were delightful, fresh and perfectly prepared. The ambiance is cozy, reminiscent of a warm inviting English pub. The cocktails were divine and the service was top notch. I highly recommend the SideDoor.

Excellent food and drink! A local favorite hangout!

We were heavy regulars pre-pandemic, this is our first visit post-pandemic. And we just had a great time! Service was just exceptional (and frankly much-improved), food just as good and “SoCal-Pub” as before (shrimp, chicken sandwich, salad, beer, wine, strawberry trifle), and you can finally reserve a spot (no more crowding at the door hoping to get noticed and a spot). As CdM residents, this will once again become part of our regular rotation!
