Guacamole Mexican Bistro - Newmarket

Nah... sorry it's not for me. I'd rather go to the fat bastards a few blocks away. We ordered some pretty basic stuff like burrito $11.95 and taco $15.95 four pieces. The menu didn't say the steak is extra $1.5, only knew when the bill came. We waited about 10-15 for the take out. The food was rather underwhelming. While it seems authentic it doesn't taste good. The steak in taco was alright, it also has some cheese and part of the tortilla is still crispy. But you don't get to choose the ingredients like fat bastards. I think it's also a bit smaller too. As for the fish taco that's the real let down. The four tacos are essentially stuck together, it's messier than you think. When I finished the taco, the veggies that fell out basically almost makes a bowl of salad. Fat bastards uses a little plastic stand thingy to separate the tacos and it's never messy. And then the shell is so rubbery. The fish is so small compared to the fat bastards one although fat bastards taco is three bigger pieces. The fish batter is so thick, it's stale too, and you can taste the fresh water fish taste. AND, only when we finished the food we found two quarters of old pathetic lime hiding underneath the paper liner. For almost $35, id expect something better.

Location is a bit to be desired, however the food and service made up for it. Very authentic Mexican food. Everything was awesome!

This is a semi new mexican place in Newmarket near the Rexall on Yonge. The mexican food offered here is def. more authentic than other restaurants in Newmarket. I have had the chicken burrito and the chicken enchiladas. Both were tasty but my preference is the enchiladas which was topped with a salsa dressing, cheese and sour cream. It also came with a side of mexican rice and re fried beans. The burrito was a little on the dry side and didn't taste very flavourful something was missing. It also didn't come with any sides so I felt like the dish was lacking a bit. The service is great and they even give you chips and dip to start!

Vegetarian food was just okay. Had guacamole, chimichangas and tostadas. Good size portions but have had better tasting Mexican food.

I hate to review this place. I would rather keep it a secret so we can get a table anytime. That's not fair so here goes . The food was awesome and the service was top notch. Having traveled all over Mexico not just the resorts, this as authentic as it gets. Everything was fantastic starting with fresh nacho chips and warm Salsa that we were greeted with. With certainly be back . I just hope we can get in. Lunch specials start at $10.00 . Well worth it for fresh top quality food . Cheers
