Pizza Express - Newcastle upon Tyne

This establishment looks inviting from the outside- it’s years since I’ve been it’s a great location in Newcastle- has a lovely covered outdoor area next to entrance. We didn’t end up staying or eating here though as it wasn’t very friendly it says they have an offer/happy hour advertised outside however they did not when we went in also it was really unclean smell inside. We left went elsewhere. Such a shame as it could be fabulous if it was run well they did have offers on here.

The service at this restaurant was extremely bad, to the point where even the dead would not have been satisfied. It was disgraceful and I couldn't tell if it was a punishment for my behavior or just simply terrible. The staff were rude and impatient, even making fun of my redhead girlfriend by giggling and pointing at her from a distance. It's a shame that they must lead such a sad life. On the positive side, the beers were good.

Really sad what happened to this food chain; the quality of food is abysmal, staff spent their time chatting amongst each other instead of caring for diners and food tastes pre cook and 'out of the tin ' disgraceful

There were only three diners in the restaurant. Ordered a starter and a main course. Waited 30 minutes. They forgot the starter. Goodness knows how they would cope if there were, say, six people to serve! Not good enough.

We used a voucher to have lunch at this restaurant on 30/12. The restaurant was not very busy and could use some attention. It is dark, worn-out, and not suitable for people with mobility issues (lots of stairs, especially to the toilets). It seemed understaffed, with only one friendly waitress working. The service was good throughout our meal. The food arrived quickly, which made me question its freshness. Our meal was over very quickly. The dishes were average, nothing special, and lacked flavor. Luckily, we had a voucher, as we would have been unhappy paying full price. The drinks were also quite expensive, at £7 for a large beer. We wouldn't rush back here, as there are nicer Italian restaurants in the city with better quality food and atmosphere.
