Stiff drinks, but food is overall lacking in a big way. Calling fried chicken too greasy would be like saying water is wet or lava is hot. I get it. Still though, there's a level to which the grease becomes excessive and it's covering parts of your plate like a maple glaze. Oof. The beef tips were pretty tasteless, gravy was missing something. Corn was... corn. I mean. Yeah. It's corn. Mashed potatoes were fine, probably the best part of the meal. And when the potatoes are the best part, while it might be enough to please an old North Irishman, I'm certainly not impressed.
We visited NoNo's in Newburg for Mother's Day brunch on May 14. What a colossal disappointment. It was quite expensive at $27.95 for adults. I would hardly call it a brunch but rather leftovers from the refrigerator served up. There were no pancakes, no waffles, no omelettes, and the only egg dish served were processed egg folds with American cheese in the middle. There were some mini quiches that were clearly not homemade and were served cold at best. They did have sausages and bacon, which I will say were tasty and warm. There was not one homemade pastry or dessert on the sweets table, and our reservation was at 12:30 and they were already out of cheesecake and there was no more to be had. The main dishes were tenderloin, tips and gravy served over wild rice. We were hard-pressed to actually find the tenderloin tips in the massive amounts of gravy. There was a steamer with one slice of ham laying in it that was never refilled in the hour we were there. They also served a baked fish whose smell was so overwhelming that the whole dining room smelled like fish. Was this leftover from Friday night? There were some rosemary, roasted red potatoes that were tasty. Albeit not hot. There was a salad bar that was a minimal at best, no potato salad no fancy Fixin's just your basic iceberg mix with a few toppings. I thought it odd that there were only two salad dressing choices as well. There was a bowl of mixed fresh fruit, which was tasty . We were a group of five and our waitress was nice enough, however, never once came back to refill coffee, or ask if we wanted additional drinks. Overall, a very disappointing brunch., A real bummer. We left feeling very ripped off at how much it cost for what the selections were and actually even that the food wasn't hot or terrific. Mediocre at best. Won't go back, but have heard they are closing. Not surprised.
Good food, good service friendly atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant.... Had a very enjoyable time!!
Hands down the worst place to spend your money! The cook was walking around with a drink in his hand talking all condescending to other workers! The waitress dropped food on the floor and put it back on my plate ..I don't care that they were only wrapped crackers! I don't know what's on your floor and now on my plate!! The food wasn't cooked to order and wasn't hot! Like warm maybe... But not hot as it should be! The chaos and decline in food and atmosphere will get you only a one star review.... And that's being generous!
