Timber Charlies - Newberry

Quality restaurant that has no business being as good as it is! Great all Michigan brewery beer selection on tap. Food is well above average. Buddy and I visited here two nights on a row and tried several meal options beef tenderloin tips, shaved ribeye sandwich, smoked pork nachos, french onion soup, and a wet burrito. All were quickly prepared and served hot and delicious. We also tried their appetizer platter which basically could have been meal for two on its own. We were also the knuckleheads that showed up 30 minutes before closing, and the staff welcomed us and was just generally wonderful. Quite a gem!

Going for a leisurely Thursday afternoon drive, discovered this wonderful pub. I had the Ghost of Larson Burger and my boyfriend had the regular sized Gyro with steak fries. If you like a little bit of spice on your burger, this is the burger for you. It was cooked to perfection and the taste was amazing. My boyfriend's gyro was regular size(you could also get the knife and fork size). I would hate to see how big that one was because the regular size was pretty big. I snagged one of his steak fries and they were crispy and delicious. I'm pretty picky about steak fries because of the thickness and these were done amazingly. I had a margarita for a drink and it was perfectly made to perfection. Very pleased with this visit. Highly recommend.

Had a whitefish sandwich it wasn't listed as ocean white fish so I was expecting the worst it did taste good but was very thin less than 1/4 in thick over 70% the thickest was less than 1/2. The breading was very good and crispy . fries were good. Found out it was ocean not great lakes when another customer ordered from a difrent server. Will try them again just due to the batter and oil it was fried in was clean with out any after taste.

Best place in town! It's always our go to for dinner after work and when my wife and I forget to pack a lunch we always just order whatever they have for their lunch special. Haven't been let down yet. The new owners, Angie and Rob, are always super nice! Take it from a local, you won't be disappointed with a stop at Timber Charlie's!

Great place to eat and relax. Our bartender was awesome and served us amazing food as well as drinks! 10/10 would visit again. You MUST try the Yooper pretzel with beer cheese!!
