Returning from the mountain, this place was a very much welcomed stop. Great food and beers. The plates are huge and beautifully served. Typical bar to watch the rugby game! The bar is also the local bottle shop, once the 4 square in the near corner does not sell alcohol. You can play some pool and arcades and also play mini golf in the car park.

Schnapps bar was a great place to go for dinner after we returned from the mountain. We were welcomed with a friendly smile and a 'Kia Ora ' which my Te Reo speaking whānau very appreciated. The food was INCREDIBLE and great value for money. We ordered the scotch fillet, mountain burger, kids mac and cheese and kids chicken nuggets. We also ordered the choc brownie and Belgian waffles which could not be faulted. We cant wait to return one day.

Whenever I travel rural tourist area, I usually have low expectations on food but the food in this pub was actually quite nice. We enjoyed steak, chicken wings and beef burger. Friendly staff and cozy winter vibes. Must try their Mulled wine! Tasty
