Yonah Schimmel's Knish Bakery

This is a must for anyone who wants a kanish. The apple and potato are my favorites. Just don't get the Danish style as they are dairy.

Great Knishes. Just double check as few aren't vegan but most are. Two and I was stuffed. Mushroom one is yum.

Yonah schimmel’s is a tiny hole in the wall where they sell knishes and similar objects for the takeout. this place is world famous, a NYC landmark that they would not guess from the humble view of the load. this is all vegetarian, but most of the articles seem not-vegan. However, they have a series of vegan kartoffeln knishes, so if they want a taste of history, this is a good place to visit.

The knishes are really tasty, and it's really a neat spot to go to. I mean, its been there since 1910! There is some seating so you can get your knishes to eat there or get them to go. They ask for a minimum for credit card purchases, I think it was $10. So keep that in mind because the knishes are quite cheap if you only get one or two.

Love this place — they enjoy the mashing much more than others I have tried.
