Poke Junke - New York City

Delicious poke and hot food options. The miso glaze salmon and fried tofu are some of my favorite lunch options. The service is always great!

They kept the door open the entire time to ensure good air circulation while also keeping the heater on inside, so it felt comfortable and warm. The restaurant only allows a maximum of four people at a time. Upon arrival, they check your temperature and ask you to fill out a safety questionnaire as a precaution.

The food and portions used to be fantastic, and I used to really enjoy their offerings. However, I noticed that their lunch portions kept getting smaller and smaller, and I found that much of it was mostly just rice. They had great MealPal options, but they replaced some of their best meals with very basic Chinese dishes.

I placed an order through Ritual for a custom poke bowl and was eager to try this new spot, especially because they offered torched salmon as one of the protein options. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to discover that my order was missing some of the toppings I had selected, specifically masago and shredded nori. I wasn't informed about this until after I had left the restaurant, which was frustrating. The absence of these toppings made my poke bowl rather bland. Considering the price, I believe I can find better poke elsewhere. The poke itself was quite ordinary and lacked flavor, even with the Sriracha mayo sauce. While they do provide a generous portion, I found myself unable to finish most of it due to its plainness. I wish I had opted for my usual poke places that offer unlimited toppings.

I come here about twice a week with Mealpal. The Spicy Crispy Tofu is excellent! The portion could be slightly bigger but maybe that's just me :
