Souvlaki GR Midtown - New York

This was my second time at Souvlaki. Food is consistently good here and the drinks today were pretty great too. We were charged 20% of our cheque as service charge which was 20$ added to our 100$ check. Their kitchen has authentic Greek cooks, which is evident from the food they serve. Quite expensive IMO for small plates and a couple of drinks. However, servers are polite too and the interiors are cosy cute.

We?re on our trip to NYC. It was a hot day and we got back from the Pride parade. After resting I advocated for Greek food for dinner. Souvlaki GR looked yummy so we decided to give it a shot. I ordered the moussaka. Huge portion but very tasty. It?s best if you order one for two people to share. My wife and I shared the Greek salad. My older had the calamari and octopus with orzo. Amazing, the octopus is tender and soft! My younger daughter has the chick pea salad and aspinach and rice dish. I had an ouzo shot which was good. Service was a attentive the the ambience was lively. I would come here again.

The atmosphere was nice with authentic feeling of Greece. The food was tasty with good value of money. The staff attended our order fast and explain us the menu.

A cheap sandwich if you're in a time crunch, but that's it. Total tourist trap. The 3 Spreads were inedible (literally, the spiced feta was essentially frozen and too hard to spread on pita, and the tzatziki was completely separated between yoghurt and all ingredients as if it had been sitting in its container for days). There's so much good Greek food in Manhattan. If you live in Midtown, don't fall victim to another below average tourist trap.

This was AMAZING!! I got the Souvlaki Pita with chicken and Spanakopita. I thought I could stretch it to 2 meals but no way. Too tasty to quit.
