I can't say enough good things about this place. We were visiting friends for New Years Eve and had reservations for dinner. I can't belive I don't remember but I think our servers name was Nicole. She was so friendly and attentive. I was taken back by how good the service was. Asked for a extra couple sides of risotto that weren't on the special menu and she made it happen and wasn't annoyed like so many younger servers are these days. Was up in New Paltz for some hiking, the hotel recommended Garvan's and I'm so glad we ate there. Dinner was so good we ate lunch there the next day after our hike. Had delicious short ribs and salad for dinner and a great sandwich and salad for lunch. Yummy desserts too. Nice and very friendly staff.

My husband and I have now been to Garvan’s about five times, 6 for me. We don’t live very close by but we will go out of our way to go here every time that we are in the area, it’s become a mandatory stop when we know we’ll be passing through the area. Service, food, atmosphere… all of it gets 5 stars. We are from the NYC/tri-state area, and this is one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to easily.
