Abaya Thai Cuisine - New York

I discovered this restaurant today while walking around midtown West. They had dim sum ads on the front, so I decided to try their take-out. The waitress was friendly and took our order promptly. We waited around 15-20 minutes for our four orders of dim sum. When we got home, we discovered that the shrimp and chive dumpling was a disappointment. The shrimp was completely raw and the filling was unappetizingly raw. The outer side was fried but the inner dough and shrimp paste were both uncooked. There were chunks of raw shrimp throughout. It was both incredible and disgusting. The restaurant was not even busy, with only one other customer next to us.

The restaurant offers a fantastic menu. The service is excellent and the place is spotless.

The waitress was delightful! I ordered the spring rolls and pad thai, and they were absolutely delicious. The dishes were cooked perfectly and the portion size was just right. I had to resist the urge to leave any leftovers. The flavors were outstanding and I wish this restaurant was closer to my home.

Unpleasant dining experience. One of the waitresses was coughing everywhere and didn't cover her mouth.
