Empire China Buffet - New Philadelphia

The wooden surfaces at our table were grimy, and the Plexiglass partitions were so dirty that it was hard to see through them. It seemed like they were using the same rag to wipe down tables, along with some basic Windex, without bothering to clean or rinse it properly. My daughter left with a lot of uneaten food because she wasn't feeling well, and the unsanitary atmosphere didn't help my own stomach either. It's safe to say that I won't be returning unless they make significant improvements to the cleanliness of the restaurant. At this point, a complete overhaul seems necessary to get it back on track.

Tables were wiped down with a single rag and a store-brand window cleaner, yet they didn’t clean or rinse properly between uses, which I found quite off-putting. My daughter struggled with her meal due to the unpleasant odor in the atmosphere, and it turned my stomach as well. Unfortunately, I will not be returning unless there is a significant improvement in cleanliness. Honestly, I think the only way to really clean up the place would be a fire to start fresh.

I spoke to the manager, who seemed friendly enough, but I was still charged for half a plate of food, even though it should have been complimentary! Additionally, I later learned that on January 18th, a 7-year-old boy found a cockroach in his sweet and sour chicken. After hearing about that incident, I was even more concerned. We will never return to this restaurant — it was dirty, unprofessional, and unsanitary. The food did not appear fresh, and I regret not taking pictures or videos to document it. To top it all off, my son and I are now suffering from food poisoning! Please avoid this place if you want to stay healthy!
