The aubergine dish is a standout and definitely worth trying, as is the falafel. The rindsalwarma was full of enticing aromas. We enjoyed the kebab combo, which featured three different types of kebabs that were delightful and delicious. The seafood pasta pleasantly surprised me with its quality. However, I found the red lentil soup to be somewhat overrated. Overall, dining here was a fantastic experience.
Wow, I was absolutely amazed by their vegetarian moussaka and vegan red lentil soup! I've never tasted such an incredible moussaka anywhere before... it was everything I ever hoped it could be. It was comforting, hearty, and satisfying, yet somehow both decadent and easy to enjoy at the same time. Truly remarkable! I can't wait to try their other vegetarian dishes; they have a whole section dedicated to them on the menu!
This is hands down my favorite place for convenient food in New Paltz. The red lentil soup is an absolute must-try, and it pairs perfectly with a piece of baklava (both the regular and vegan versions are delicious!). You really can't go wrong with anything you order, but my personal favorite is the Incredible Eggplant Sandwich on pita, especially with the babaganoush—it's so good, even if I know it's made with double eggplant! My boyfriend always opts for the Supreme Falafel Sandwich on pita. Don't forget to ask for hot sauce on the side; it's fantastic!
In the Moon Light Cafe there are many things to like. The menu is wide with many foods, either Mediterranean or a Middle East, which take food from other cultures. For example, a falafel and pommes not only has delicious falafels in a pita with fresh vegetables and homemade sauce, but the frits are really the best frits in the city. Everything is made from soups to veggieburgers. It costs a little more, but the quality in the ingredients and the care in preparation is obvious.
Excellent vegan menu. You may have to request it as it’s a separate menu entirely with over a dozen options !!! . We had a veggie burger like no other- it’s house-made and so authentically flavorful, complete with all the toppings and a crisp salad. We also had 2 platters of finger foods and dips for our warm pita which we enjoyed; actually we were so happy with the creaminess of the hummus that required no animal products! I wanted to request the recipe!! Maybe I’ll just have to go back...
