D D's And Pub - New City

A few of my friends and I went to this restaurant last night for some drinks and a game of pool. The bartender/waitress, Kristen, was extremely rude to us right from the start. She implied they may not have the vodka we wanted, and we had to ask her to check. She didn't know about the types of wine they had. When we inquired about the gluten-free option for the chili, she said she didn't know and couldn't ask the staff. Our food was missing items when it came out, and our drink refills had bugs in the ice (twice). She didn't seem very apologetic about this and simply suggested we order something without ice. It was clear that her focus was on the regular customers at the bar, as our table was not cleared, our water wasn't refilled, and we had to bring our bill up to her. She had an unpleasant attitude during every interaction. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant or recommending it to anyone I know.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with a group of 12 ladies and we all had a great experience. The food was delicious and we received excellent service from a cheerful, patient, and accommodating waiter. The portions were generous and the soups were particularly tasty. The corned beef in the Reuben sandwiches was lean and the Philly steak sandwiches and chicken parmigiana were also huge. The meals at the other end of our table were just as impressive. Overall, we were very satisfied with the wide selection of lunch options available.

I enjoy dining at D&D and have been a loyal customer for many years. The Irish egg rolls are absolutely delicious. However, I have been a bit disappointed with their takeout service. On one occasion, I ordered a burger with fried onions and paid extra for them, but unfortunately, they forgot to include the onions in my order. Additionally, despite coleslaw being listed on the menu, it was not included with my meal. To top it off, they provided me with C-fold towels, which are usually used in bathrooms. If you plan on ordering takeout from D&D, I recommend double-checking your order before leaving to avoid any disappointments.

We really enjoy this restaurant. The food is delicious, the ambiance is lovely, and they have a great selection of beer.

There doesn't seem to be anyone answering the phone to take orders, even though the restaurant is clearly open.
