Eat Bistro And Drinks - New Castle

Our group of four started off with coconut shrimp, pork belly bao, and Reuben egg rolls, while enjoying beers, wine, and the Hot Madame cocktail. If I could go back, I might skip the egg rolls in favor of the shrimp and grits (diner's remorse?), not because I didn't like the egg rolls, but because I really wanted to try both dishes. The bread and butter served at the table were delightful and tasted very fresh. For our main courses, we ordered the pork osso bucco (perfectly cooked), curry-encrusted shrimp (spicy but not overpowering), baked cod (lemony with a great cod flavor), and wild-caught sea scallops. The scallops, especially, are tricky to get right this far inland since they can be delicate and spoil quickly if not fresh. These were cooked as well as any I've had on the East Coast. One member of our group also ordered the soup of the day, which she raved about. The staff were absolute rock stars. They made us feel right at home and were incredibly patient with our many questions. They have a unique take on the classic Manhattan cocktail, featuring ten variations developed during the pandemic. This exemplifies what happens when a restaurant doesn't rest on its laurels. Naturally, we had a lot of questions about the Manhattans, and the staff took the time to discuss them with us. Plus, it's not something you see everywhere, but they wiped down the table between courses—kudos for that! Desserts change with the seasons and availability. Unfortunately, there were no more apple tarts left, so we opted for the pear tart, which was a lovely finish to our meal.

This fantastic hidden gem in New Castle offers outstanding service, delicious food, and inventive cocktails. I highly recommend it!

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, contributing to the overall happiness in the room. We wanted for nothing, and this is truly how fine dining should always be. We celebrated my birthday at EAT Bistro and Drinks and it did not disappoint!! This was one of the best meals I have ever had! We had drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts! Every single item was delicious! The staff were great. The atmosphere was fun.This is truly a hidden gem in the cute little town of New Castle! We can't wait to go back!!
